故事描述一个爱尔兰女人（Sharon Horgan）与一个美国男人（Rob Delaney）在英国伦敦相遇并相爱，但对文化差异巨大的两人来说，在一起生活并非易事。
Rob accuses Sharon of infidelity after finding the receipt for the morning after pill but she explains that she took it after they last had sex, not wanting another child, and he apologizes. However she feels guilty about her near sexual encounter with young Nico and Rob is suspicious. A row ensues, interrupted when son Frankie has a fall and, at the hospital, Sharon confesses all. Rob is not entirely forgiving but nor is Sharon happy to learn that he has quit his job, despite being found not guilty of sexual harassment.
