Plot Summary:Years after being jailed for murdering Lizzie Kilmuir Tommy Malone is released on appeal, leading Jimmy to believe there is a second suspect and that the original investigating officer Drew McColl bullied Tommy into confessing. Somewhat unwisely Tommy returns to his late mother's house on Shetland and general hostility. However Lizzie's sister Kate is sympathetic whilst Drew's daughter Sally, an investigative journalist, also champions Tommy but is herself killed. Meanwhile local vigilantes go after Tommy.
