1994年卢旺达宣布独立后，胡图族与图西族两部族之间矛盾重重，多次发生冲突，战事持续不断。胡图族大肆屠杀图西族人，在这种背景下，卢旺达饭店经理保罗一直四面奔走，最终成功挽救了饭店里一千多名图西族和胡图族难民。

Plot Summary:During the 1990s, some of the worst atrocities in the history of mankind took place in the country of Rwanda--and in an era of high-speed communication and round the clock news, the events went almost unnoticed by the rest of the world. In only three months, one million people were brutally murdered. In the face of these unspeakable actions, inspired by his love for his family, an ordinary man summons extraordinary courage to save the lives of over a thousand helpless refugees, by granting them shelter in the hotel he manages.
